ABOUT ALLISON
I have had the privilege of working with clients since 2012. I am passionate about helping clients through whatever hardships or struggles they may face, in a supportive, compassionate, confidential, and nonjudgmental manner.
I understand that sometimes, life can be challenging and even overwhelming, and that we reach the limit of what we are able to do on our own. Although it is not always easy to ask for help, it takes courage to reach out for help.
Therapy can provide the support needed to take the next steps, and together, we will find the path to help, to hope and to healing.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Psychotherapy is different for everyone and is based on an individual’s specific goals and desired outcomes. As your therapist, I will be someone who will offer a safe, confidential, and accepting environment to meet your goals. I am here to support you, listen carefully, and work collaboratively with you to help bring relief, make change, and overcome the challenges you may be facing.
Here are answers to some basic questions you may have:
WHAT IS COUNSELING/THERAPY?
The terms 'counseling' and 'therapy' are used interchangeably, and generally refer to the process of ‘psychotherapy.’ Psychotherapy is a collaborative process that involves working with a trained professional to become better equipped to manage stresses, understand patterns in thinking and behavior, have more satisfying relationships and better regulate emotional responses to challenges.

WHAT WILL MY FIRST SESSION BE LIKE?
The first session is a time for information gathering, starting to build the therapeutic relationship and beginning the collaborative process. The Intake paperwork that you completed prior to your first appointment will be discussed and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. We will discuss any important information that you would like to share, as well as discuss what you hope to accomplish in therapy. Finally, we will collaborate to create a plan for moving forward to include therapy goals and frequency of appointments.

IS COUNSELING CONFIDENTIAL?
Yes. One of the key components to a successful therapy experience is confidentiality between the client and therapist. A high degree of trust is needed, and you should expect that what you discuss in session will not be shared with anyone without your permission.

HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST?
I accept several insurance plans, including the ones below:
The out-of-pocket cost will vary depending on whether you use insurance and what your individual insurance plan requires of you. It is best to contact your insurance company before you schedule an appointment and find out what your mental health benefits are.
